This & That

The above photo is one of the views from the office where I work.  Nice, huh?

Let's see, since I last posted at the first of the year, a few things have happened.  Ezra finally got his driver's license.  He's all excited.  We're not.  It's kind of hard letting your kid go driving on his own.

What else?  Guy left Owen's Inspections.  They are having major financial problems and having a hard time coming up with money to pay employees.  Guy decided it wasn't worth the hassle so he left.  He has a job interview on Thursday with the Alaska Rural Water Association for a position as Water Circuit Rider.  If he gets the job, he will finally get to put his licenses in water/sewer treatment to work.  The job entails traveling out to different little villages for two to three days a week to train and help other water/sewer operators with their plants.  I think.  Not really sure what all the job entails, but it will be a steady pay check with state benefits.  The benefits alone are worth it.

The other big thing is I booked a cruise for later in the year for me, Guy and the kids.  We'll go after school starts next fall.  It's Ezra's last year of high school and may be the last chance we'll get to do a family vacation together.  I think even Guy is kind of looking forward to it.  I know the kids are.  We'll be going to the Caribbean, sailing out of Port Canaveral, Fl to Cococay, Bahamas, then to St. Thomas and then St. Martin.  I already have three free plane tickets from mileage plans and am working on the last one.  So, we're getting there.

Not much else really going on.  I don't know if I mentioned, but I am finally getting one of books published.  It should be in stores later this fall.  Yes, I'm excited.

Okay, I have to get off here and finish getting ready for work.  Have a good day!
